Just thought I'd add to my last post -- I still often play small venues or jazz gigs where I'm playing with a couple of sax players, bass and drums. For this I only use my stage monitor set up which is usually plenty loud enough for this sort of thing, I even take a couple of mikes into my small mixer for the sax's.
