I've had two EV-5 pedals for over 10 years. Both of them still work
like new, set the small left-side control knob for response curve
wanted, lightweight and easy to pack, dont fall over unless I trip on
them. I'd take them on a road trip without hesitation. They work
fine with any Roland keyboard Expression socket. Roland makes two
heavier stereo in/out FV series pedals, solid as a rock. FV-200s I
have are also over 10 years old and work like new. I like the FC-7
pedals too per my previous post; but I can witness the fact the EV-5
and FV-200 pedals are quality pro gear. Velcro will hold them on a
thin square of plywood if you've got a lot of floor stuff that can
slide around. The EV-5 might not be so easy to use played standing
up. Maybe slamming and kicking pedals around or something has a bad
effect on them(?). I guess anything could fail if banged around
enough - perhaps just not suitable for some players onstage act. I
have to confess to never breaking a key on a quality keyboard even
during the most balls-to-the-wall (old expression) full volume live
performance, and cant relate to how some players manage that - some
even brag on it ...I don't get it.
