I don't know firsthand about the VK-7, but I use a FC-7 with an
Electro. It is wired backwards for the Electro, that is, tip and ring
need to be reversed. I didn't want to modify my pedal either, so I
made a short patch cable with female stereo to male stereo, crossing
the tip and ring. Works great, and I was able to leave my pedal
stock. I'll bet that would work for the VK-7 too.
