Ben,
Sometimes I can't believe I gave up the Electro either. It truly was a
prize. As I mentioned, I still have remorse about that sale. That's the
problem (or feature) of eBay...one can literally unload equipment to buy
other equipment in a matter of days or even hours! In the old days of
advertising in newspaper traders, I never would cycle through so much gear
in such a short period.
As for your other questions, I have spent minimal time with the VK-8. I
really like its action and believe it has the same engine as the V-Combo,
which is totally acceptable. It probably surpasses the VK-7 and the only
reason I "reverted" was that I found a great deal that was less than half of
what I would have paid for a VK-8. I find that the tone of the VK-7, along
with the Leslie simulation, is very inspiring. I wish it had a true
waterfall keyboard, but I'm not losing that much sleep since the action is
very pummel-worthy and ROBUST.
So I'll probably end up getting another Electro when I have some spare cash
lying around...

Eric Lawson

Eric, I still can't believe you gave up the Electro. I'm curious if
you tried out a VK-8, and if so what did you like/dislike about it and
why did you revert to the 7?
