Would love to know that too. I own two of them. Works great on my Kurzweil but no go on Roland.

Subject: [CWSG] Using a Yamaha FC7 pedal with Roland VK-7?
Hello Clonefolk,
I would really love to use a Yamaha FC7 expression pedal with my Roland VK-7
organ. The Roland EV-5 is just about the flimsiest piece of crap ever made.
Can I get a witness on that? No feel, wierd and touchy control curve, won't
stay where you put it, likes to flip over (!!) while you're using it, and prone
to frequent breakdowns (I've been through three of them). Roland makes some
kind of heavy-duty version of the EV-5 (EV-7?) that I've never seen anywhere
but online, but it's like around $200.00 !! Frankly, I don't trust them to
make this pedal very much better than the EV-5, and I already know that I love
the Yamaha FC7 pedals.
Unfortunately, the Yamaha pedal doesn't work with the Roland. Maybe it's
because of the way it's wired, or maybe it's just that the pot is the wrong
value. You plug it in and it doesn't really effect the volume very much (just a
little bit of change). I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas about modifying
the Roland's expression pedal input to work correctly with the Yamaha pedal.
No, I don't want to modify the Yamaha pedal. It's too hard to find pots that
will drop into pedals and work as you need them to, and again, the Yamaha pedals
are perfect as they are. I'd much rather modify the Roland to work with the
pedals that I know I'm gonna be using for years to come (and I use those
pedals with most of my other instruments).
I'm gigging in Las Vegas right now, and all of my schematics are in Los
Angeles, including my VK-7 schematic. If someone has the VK-7 schematic and feels
like scanning the expression pedal input section of it and emailing it to me,
I would be very grateful. I could probably figure things out from there.
