I bit the bullet and bought one our good man Steve's stereo Speakeasy preamps. I will let you V-Combo guys know if I reach nirvana by Christmas. I love the VR's organ sound but you have to watch those upper drawbars. We'll see if Speakeasy fixes that! Norm...........

I find myself grabbing the mid EQ and boosting 400-600 a bit in
exposed situations. The organs cuts nicely through a really big band
but I tend to use a more dirty sound for girth. Mileage may vary,
and I wish the EQ was programmable...

A nice tube preamp couldn't hurt either!
