Subject:Re: Tweaking the VK8-M/VK-8 Leslie.
Hey Thomas. I did a serious tweak session on my VK-8 leslie sim..... and I
agree with those 2 parameters. I set my stereo spread to max, and I set my
mic distance to very close. Send the output to a stereo rig and spread the
speakers about 8-10 ft. apart, and it sounds like one big honkin' Leslie,
especially the slow, chorale type stuff. You can really hear the low rotor
sim well like this.
There's still something about the upper rotor in the high-end drawbars that
I don't like. But I haven't done the Roland upgrade either, so I don't know
if they've improved it.
I've downloaded the Roland upgrade from their website. It's a zipfile, with
several midi files inside. Is there anyway to upgrade this VK-8 when I
don't own a
seqencer or computer with MIDI?
