Subject:Tweaking the VK8-M/VK-8 Leslie.

I thought I'd give another go at tweaking the rotary sim.
I'd already downloaded the Soundside up-grade and played around with
the settings, and maybe messed up.

I wanted to simplify my gear and if possible do without using the
Dynacord simulator.
Having had another try at setting the simulator, it seems to have
come good. I've only tried it on headphones but it's pretty near the
Electro's sim.

The are some parameters that make a big difference, like the stereo
spread and mic distance, and as there are only LEDS working on the
rough principle of the more that are lit up, the greater the effect,
judgement is somewhat down to using your ears. Also you have to edit
one parameter at a time.

The module is not as difficult to edit as some have reported because
of the missing LED display that used to be on the VK7. It just means
you have to refer to the user manual a fair bit until you familiarise
yourself with which buttons reach any particular edit mode. Because
of the little LED lights, you are not tweaking blind, it's just a
little rough and ready.

All in all, this smallish module is very, very good: there are just
some silly ommissions like the lack of dedicated speed change foot-
pedal socket, overcome by using the Soundside up-grade, and missing
rotary by-pass, which can be overcome by using the Soundside up-grade
package.
