Subject:Re: V Combo case
Calzone made me a case of their plastic material. It's light, 33 lbs. But their "custom made" job left a little to be desired....there was way too much play inside the case (and custom to me means NO play inside). In their defense, they took measurements from the Roland website (although they told me they had made cases for 2 of these already: I never use measurements supplied by the manufacturer, I draw and measure the keyboard for the case maker...but in this case, since I was told they'd already made a couple, I didn't do that). The free stencil job on the outside had the wrong area code for the phone number. The case cost me $339 plus shipping. I then spent probably another $100 having it foamed the right way by RnR cases. (I would have had RnR make this case, but they couldn't make it light enough...even though they use the same panel material, a honeycombed plastic, their hardware is much more substantial...for these "cheap" cases, they staple every few inches, whereas
Calzone is relying on one support brace in the middle of the case, and the end corner rivets to hold their case together; but you gotta trim the weight somewhere I guess.)
So, for $339, if you supply the correct measurements, you should have a decent case on wheels from Calzone that is lightweight. I needed mine foamed tight because it will only be doing airline travel; you probably won't have quite as strict a need.
