Subject:Electro controller #s

Hi all, especially Electro users!

Anyone know how the Electro's drawbutton MIDI control messages are
sent? The manual says that the nine UPPER drawbuttons will transmit
CC#s 16 thru 24, and the nine LOWER drawbuttons will transmit CC#s 70
thru 78. Therefore, it would seem that, if one were to use an Electro
as a controller for a EVB3 or B4 (with upper and lower drawbars mapped
to receive on corresponding CC#s), you could only push-in the upper
drawbars with the top set of Electro drawbuttons, and pull-out the
lower drawbars with the bottom set of Electro drawbuttons. You
couldn't, however, return the drawbars since on the Electro, the top
or UPPER drawbuttons are used to "push-in" and the bottom or LOWER
drawbuttons are used to do the opposite, or "pull-out". If this is
the case, these drawbuttons suck as controllers because they can
either raise or lower a controller #s value, but not both!! In other
words, they only go one way!

..OR..

Am I all mucked up? Could the manual actually mean that if you have
selected the UPPER manual on the Electro, the top row of drawbuttons
pushes in the EVB3/B4 drawbars receiving on CC#s 16 thru 24, and the
bottom row of drawbuttons pulls out the EVB3/B4 drawbars receiving on
CC#s 16 thru 24. Then, by the same flow of logic, if you select the
LOWER manual on the Electro, the top row of drawbuttons pushes in the
EVB3/B4 drawbars receiving on CC#s 70 thru 78, and the bottom row of
drawbuttons pulls out the EVB3/B4 drawbars receiving on CC#s 70 thru 78.

..OR..

Dang, I haven't played an Electro in a while!! Will any drawbutton
cycle the LEDs in and back out when you just hold it down.

Thanks in advance

Doug
