Subject:ReMotion Sound R3 147 ( Nice ) tubes, deflector, and the Fisher man.
I have an R3-147. I've had a problem with a disorted sound in the right
channel. I took it to a local sound engineer to look at and listen to it. He
was able to open up the chamber with no problem. It is possible to break
something, so I can understand "no entry" the sticker.
I haven't been able to get rid of the distortion in the right channel. I'm
planning to send the unit back to Utah for them to look at.
I like the idea of a 20 lb real rotating speaker, I'm sorry they've not
updated and continued the unit.

>I'm having more joy with my R3-147. It is sweetening up and the honk
is disappearing. I don't know whether a new tube needs time to
sweeten up, I know that a driver will sweeten up after a few hours
run-in either from new or from not having been used for a while.
Whatever, this Motion-Sound product is getting to sound vey nice
indeed.
It was an inspired idea to put a Pro3T into an accoustically isolated
chamber and mic it up. Maybe it didn't catch on with the punters but
I think it makes a great rotary sim.
John Fisher mentioned on the CWSG some time ago that MS might
experiment with a semi-deflected treble horn.
If they did and it's not too difficult to replace the horn I would
like to give it a go.
Does any-one know if the new MS 145 has a deflector on the treble
rotor?
I've managed to get hold of a used Mullard tube and a used RCA tube
and I'll try these as soon as they arrive.
Thanks to those who wrote with ideas.
Thomas.
P.S/ There's a "no entry" sticker on the isolated chamber within the
R3, stating "no user servicable parts". Is there any great problem
opening up this chamber?
