regarding transposition, I'll agree w/David and add this point. No matter
what (keyboard) instrument you encounter, you'll always be able to handle
the key changes. You may be in a situation where you can't use your gear
that does transpose, and you're stuck. Grand pianos and Hammond B3s, for
example, don't have a transpose feature.

On the other side of this, I once sat in a with a band and didn't know the
keyboard had been transposed. Took me a few stumbles to figure out the key
they called out was NOT the key I had to play in.
