This opens up a real can or worms, but what the hell....

If you want to improve on your musical skills, then you need to accept
challenges. And a BIG challenge is playing in difficult keys... I know
as sometimes a singer or guitar player will call off a song in C#.. or
G#... or whatever. Sure I improvise much better in C, G, E, F, A. etc.,
but I also will try to play in the more difficult keys.. and I am
improving.

Transposing is only cheating yourself into stagnating as a musician. GO
ahead and delve into these harder keys... I think you will feel better
as you improve.
