Subject:SB Audigy / Mixer

Hi Folks!
I own a Audigy 2 soundcard and have a question:
Can i use other (software) mixers than this creative mixer? I thougt of
one with an input-control and so on. I use my line-in often and want to
get high level, but dont want to overload the soundcard. One other thing
bothering me is, that the mixer is SO lame, ...
any solutions you know? freeware?
