Try this website www.hearandplay.com I think that can help you out. Basically, it teaches you how to play mostly gospel by ear, but have other styles of music such as blues and some jazz. You can still apply whatever you learn there and apply it to the style of music you would like to play. Shawn R.

wars ( I have a humble VK 7 with no Speakeasy) I have a question for some of
you . I already asked this on Hamtech in case you saw it there . Are any
of you out there using any software that teaches either keyboard skills or
music theory and ear training skills? The reason I ask is - I recently came
across a copy of "The Jazz Pianist" from PG music and I have already learned
much from it. I never had piano lessons and reading bass clef particularly
has been a bear for me. But - I have learned much so far from working with
this program. I can
see that being able to slow pieces down and hear them played can help the
learning process tremendously and after all , I wasn't born knowing this
stuff. Even so I did learn the first chorus of Renee Rosnes arrangement of
"Blue in Green" ala Bill Evans within a week of using this program. I am
hungry for more like this but another PG music program I picked out ( these
are at blow out prices) called "The Jazz Soloist" has bland solos that
sound almost computer generated - they are nothing I would want to memorize.
It seems that there has to be something else out there that's good and is on
a more simpified level. "The Jazz Pianist is quite hard technically and at
least one of the three players that recorded it is somewhat of a theory
showoff so I would like to find something more basic. Any ideas?
