Subject:Tonewheel/Leslie

Hi:
I enjoy the analysis and feedback to the various products and
product combinations that members like and dislike. It's very
helpful.
Here is a question about the sound of a Hammond and a Leslie when it
is combined. Let's start with the raw hammond tonewheel sound played
through a non-rotating speaker. If you have heard that sound it's
very strong - and has a very hard edge direct sounding to it but not
easy to explain. Now add a Leslie... and you have changed the sound.
It's softer and more indirect. In some organs the tonewheel sound
get's lost in the Leslie. It seems to me much of this discussion
about clone's and there authentic reproduction of a hammond and
leslie... has in part to do with how much of the tonewheel sound can
be heard... after it is processed in the leslie simulator or real...
Comments.. thoughts..?
For what it's worth.. one reason I like the Voce V5.. when I run it
throught a Leslie.. I can still hear the tonewheel...
