Subject:BX-3

I know I'm opening a can of worms here but here it goes. I recently
updated my CX-3 to the famed 2.0 O/S. Yes it does mellow out the
drawbars and I think the chorus/vibrato section sound better as well
as the leslie simulation. But I still can't get it to sound as ballsy
and fat as my original analog BX-3 combined with an HK Tube
Rotosphere. I purchased an ART Dual MP tube preamp to use with the CX-
3 and yes it warms it up. It still isn't anywhere close. I waited
patiently for several months for the upgrade and downloaded it. Yes
as I said above it sounds better but still no balls(too digital). I
tried several different group members EQ settings(outboard/onboard),
leslie settings, as well as Bruce's setup suggestions and I'm still
not happy with it. No I don't think the 2.0 CX-3 sucks it just lacks
something, what in the hell is it? Can anyone give me some
suggestions? I've already considered a Speakeasy but haven't bought
one yet. I've also considered taking my old analog BX-3 out again or
buying a used analog CX-3 just to get the balls and oomph. I can't
really swing buying an Electro and can't find a dealer here in my
area where I can try one out. I thought about a V5 but everyone says
the C/V stinks as well as the percussion. Any help would be
appreciated. My current CX-3 setup is as follows. CX-3 into the 1/4"
jacks on the front of the ART Dual MP and from there to a stereo
channel on my Mackie LM3204. I monitor myself through a JBL Mixpak
15" that I love and a separate feed to the PA.
