Subject:NE vs VR-760


My son and I stopped in at Bananas At Large in San Rafael, CA to see what new toys might be in stock. Ho boy - a Nord Electro 73 on top of a Roland VR-760! I played with the VR-760 for a little while, and y'know, it's not bad... I wouldn't mind having one. But then I tried out the Nord... WHOA. I thought the organ on the Roland was nice, but the Nord puts it to shame. IMHO, of course ;-) I really didn't have any trouble with the drawbar implementation, but thought it was odd to have the fast/slow switch in the right side - easily remedied with a footswitch. The D-Beam Leslie sim controller was fun on the VR-760, but it's in the middle of the upper part of the keyboard... again, not the best spot.
And I see that 8th St Music has the 73 for $1450!!! $2095 for the VR-760.
