Eric,
I know you are a fellow GAS sufferer - there IS no cure, it's just a one day
at a time thing. I thought I had it licked. For a long time there, I was
happy using a VK7 and a micropiano for small gigs. My ears became accustomed
to the shrillness of the top registers - and the slightly digital sounding
leslie ramp up. I was happy - for a while. Then I landed some gigs where I
knew that wurly and clav would sound ... just right. I began to read reviews
of the Nord on the internet - just out of curiosity you understand. One day -
I found myself posting a question about the Nord on this list. I think that
was the first nail in the coffin, admitting in public to real interest in
this keyboard. Then I tried it. Next thing I knew I was in a shop with a
credit card, sweaty palms and dizziness. I must have blacked out because when
I came to, I was at home, lying naked on the floor foaming at the mouth and
there was a little red keyboard set up beside me...
I'm a little confused about the whole OS thing. The Nord I received still had
OS1 installed and I had to bring it back and get them to upgrade it to OS2
and update the piano sounds. Maybe another Nord owner can answer that
question.
My thoughts and prayers are with you. RESIST.
