Thanks Ed, if it's "sappy", great. For me, this the real stuff, the reasons
we put up with such intolerable working conditions. I'm sure you've heard
the song but Dan Fogelberg's "Leader of the Band" always hits that spot for
me.
It sounds like we're both trying to do what our fathers could not, give our
kids the playground and hope they keep coming back. It didn't "stick" for my
son, but I know how hard I've battled w/my dad's shadow and though I'm sure
I've made lotsa mistakes, that's not going to be one of them.
I forgot to mention how I accompanied my daughter at her last voice recital.
She asked me to play piano for her rendition of Carol King's "You've Got A
Friend" and of all the gigs I've ever done, that was my best moment.
Needless to say, she rocked the house. That's what good support is about.
