Subject:OT -- Virus Hoax

All,

If you get a message from a friend or acquaintance telling you to search for a file called JDBMGR.EXE on your PC, and delete it -- IGNORE THE MESSAGE. The message implies that the file was created by a virus that the sender accidentally gave to you; this is 100% false. The file is a part of the Windows OS, and while not critical to the operation of your computer, will cause some Java applets to fail.

This is a new wrinkle to the virus concept: Don't actually write any malicious code; get an unsuspecting user to do the damage for you. :^(

Regards,

-BW
