That's interesting for two reasons:
H&K all ship w/12AX7's. It's in the manual and on their website. If you
purchased yours new, that's kinda unusual. You might let H&K know about it,
could be an honest mistake on someone's part.
When you replace it, try an 12ax7...a good one. Slov or GT or whatever turns
your crank. I just had mine replaced and I'm delighted with the sound. (It
has a much nicer distortion / gain smoothness that it didn't have with the
stock tube.)
