Subject:Re: speakeasy preamp
Do you run the Electro's non-organ sounds through the Speakeasy as well as
the organ? Or are you using the hard pan feature to isolate the organ? (I
think you use a stereo rig, so I guess that's probably NOT what you are
doing). If you do play the Electro's Rhodes, clav, wurly etc through the
Speakeasy, let us know what you think of the sound.
Hi Eric,
I run stereo out of my Electro into the Speakeasy and then into my Roland
M-120 line mixer. The Speakeasy literally lifts the Rhodes, Wurlitzer,
Clavinet and Electric grand to an incredible sonic level. I'm constantly
amazed at what that pre amp does to my sound. I never leave home without it
anymore. Currently, I haven't even messed with the hard pan feature. I'm in
the process of getting a 45 Leslie two-speeded and fixed up for gigging and
possibly will look into the pan feature. Another alternative is to use this
Rolls A/B/Y switcher I own which will allow me to just bypass the Speakeasy
output that doesn't have the Leslie output when I use the organ engine on
the Electro. That way, I'll still have use of the stereo outs when I'm
playing piano & clav sounds. I wish the hard pan feature on the Electro
wasn't just a global setting. I'd much rather be able to store a pan
setting per patch. Stereo is very important to me as I run a pair of
Barbettas.
I think I've rambled enough for now.... :)
