Of course. But if I have to choose between playing a
gig "for the door" or for tips, or sitting home on a
Saturday, I'd rather go play. Haven't you ever played
for 4 or 5 hours on a day with nothing going on? A gig
may be work, but it's FUN work.
It would be nice if more club owners actually
appreciated musicians, but they don't. Many just look
at their bottom line & live entertainment is loosing
ground there. Lots of clubs around here have gone to
Karaoke or DJ's. With the places to play disappearing
I'll take any gigs that come my way, at least as long
as I still have fun. So, back to the subject of this
post, the enjoyment is my ROI. If that stops then so
will I.
