Subject:Re: OT Better Do It For the Pure Joy of It!

Bob is right...I don't think I expressed that in my
posting, but it's what I tell anyone interested in
doing this for a career: Do it not because you love
it, but because you are COMPELLED to do it. Love will
not be enough: hard work, perserverance and an ability
to wade through an unimaginable mountain of feces
will actually take you much futher.

But if you take the "career" out of the equation, your
options open up immensely. In which case, money
shouldn't be an issue. But I still wouldn't accept
that most clubs expect that you'll work for free:
because when you get down to it, it is work. You can
still be a serious artist without making a career out
of it. And that's where the satisfaction/earnings
quotient starts to make sense. Just make sure you
have a way to feed yourself. :)
