Again, a d6 don't have as many notes as your 73.
You might be talking about synth clavs than real
clavs here, ain't it?

In the 61, all piano section sounds can be shifted an
octave down. You get notes that don't even exist on
the original instruments. On the other hand, you can't
shift any octave up on any of the piano section
sounds.
However, I just confirmed that the notes are just
there. It just happens so that they can only be
accessed thru midi, wich don't make sense to me.
If the notes are there, you should be able to play
them with the internal keyboard. This is has been so
since the V2 upgrade. Before, it was fully functional.
I wrote a clavia on that, telling them that it wasn't
very logical. I though perhaps it made sense in the
73, where you can access the whole range (except for
an extra note in some of the sounds) from its own
keyboard, but that in all probability I thought they
were just missing that on the 61, and forgetting that
they just programmed them equally.
They said they appreciated my comments, although they
decided to favor that option so you didn't have
missing notes when you shifted the keyboard. But
still, I'd much rather be able to play them having
some notes missing that not being able to play them at
all. Just my 2 cents, though.
