Subject:Re: Pre Amp on Speakeasy

Hi Dave - I played a couple of gigs this week with cx3-speakeasy-kbrd.
Since I'm the sound guy I just appropriated an extra channel from the
mixer (soundcraft spirit fx16 with channel direct outs and swept mid
eq). Set it up so that when the volume and pedal on the cx3 are all
up I get the maximum grind I want, then back it down. Didn't have to
fool with the mixer's boost during the gigs. This worked well, because
the mixer channels don't need to run hot inorder to be quiet. Mixer
outs also have lots of gain.

My guess is that you would be disappointed if you used something which
wouldn't push the speakeasy well into breakup, or that introduced
noise when the keyboard is at low volumes.

Me, I'll be trying out the howler mod.

Bill
