Funny you mention this. I've been playing professionally for over
35 years and it's only been recently that
I rotated my stand around so that I also face towards the drummer
and folks can see my hands playing
on stage. The funny thing is, my technique hasn't really changed
yet folks are coming up to me commenting on my playing much more since I did
this. It has to be the visual thing happening - seeing my hands. All the
two-handed hammering on the piano keys and the glissendos on the organ are
seen and audiences find it interesting. Since most of the people coming up
to complement me are women.... how damn! I have myself a new playing
position ;-)
