Did that too...in my latin rock days, I hung a zebra
print tapestry over the front of my rig with velcro.
It hid the ugly X stand that supported my cutdown, and
made set up time so much quicker as I didn't have to
hide or strap cables anymore. On our last record, I
had a tapestry that went along with the theme of it,
and replaced the Zebra. And because I am such a geek,
my leslies and my speaker cabs (I was using the
full-on rig then) were covered in matching zebraskin.
(The speaker grills, and the big wooden flat on the
front of the leslie.) It looked pretty cool. As for
your hands, turn to the side and face the drummer:
They can't see your hands when you're up on a stage
anyway. With you perpendicular to them, now they got a
chance!
