I do it because in photos of the band, invariably taken in dim
lighting and other adverse conditions, the "ROLAND" or "KORG" is
often about the only thing you *can* see really well. It becomes
soooooo dominant that you'd think it was the name of the band.

I agree, I'm proud of my tools and don't mind people knowing what
I'm playing. I just don't want them to think the name of the
freakin' band is ROLAND. So I compromise -- I tape over the HUGE
manufacturer's name but leave the A90 (in the case of my Roland) and
the CX-3 (in the case of my Korg). BTW, Home depot sells brown tape
that will match your CX-3 "good enough" for stage purposes. :-)
