Subject:Re: Robustness of Electro's keyboard

Hey Eric....(gawd im tired)

It's been quite a while, but as I remember it, YES, it
seemed quite capable of taking some abuse. A good
test for me is taking one key, and wiggling it
side-to-side. It SHOULDN'T! I gotta admit, when I
heard it was like 12 lbs, I really didn't expect much.
When the box came, I was still like "WTF?" I've
picked up guitar cases that were heavier. But when
the keyboard came out, I thought it felt incredible.

The Guitar Centers here carry Nord, but they will
only special order the Electro...which is damn stupid.
They're missing the boat (but don't get me started on
that whole thread). It's what I've been trying to
explain to Dan via the clavinet list, as far as only
patronizing "superstores" for the $$$ you save, but in
the long run, you end up shooting yourself in the foot
by limiting your consuming choices (might want to
check out our debates re:Napster).

I've got a nice check coming before I leave (they pay
half up front) for this tour, and I'm seriously
considering looking at it again to see if it's really
that much improved sonically. I just didn't think it
sounded like "all that" when I looked at the older
version. But....

Individual Results May Vary.

PS...I hope the convert relays his transition
experience.
