Subject:Re: Online sales
Hi Dan,
>Should issues that apply to anyone interested in the item for sale be on the list? I.e, if someone posts a Leslie for sale and gives no location, and another listmember asks "where are you located" shouldnt that be on the list so that everyone who may be interested has access to the relevant information?
Yeah, that kind of information is fine; just use common sense. What I would like to see minimized or eliminated is two things:
- "I'm interested!" and "You're asking $500; would you take $450?" posts. This group posts 10-20 messages per day, sometimes up to 40 or 50. That's a lot of email to wade through. All of these message go to around 500 people. Why bother 480-498 of them with the kind of details that are clearly between buyer and seller? If I'm not interested in someone's say, used Korg G4, then I'm CERTAINLY not interested in who else on the list wants it.
- "I live in LA. How much would it cost to ship it there?" posts. This group has members in Europe, Asia, Australasia, and South America, in addition to North America. The answer to that question is probably not very valuable to members outside of this country, let alone outside this continent.
Regards,
-BW
