Subject:Re: Informal Leslie sim poll

To be honest...I thought the Toneworks *korg* G4
Rotary Simulator was the best of the lot. I had the
EV/Dynacord CLS (can't remember the model, but it was
the one with really extensive editing...was also midi)
which I liked, a Rotosphere (which did fast acceptably
with correct ramp up/down speeds, but its slow speed
just tugs..not to mention its pretty noisey) and in a
truly weird combination back in the day, a GEP50
*yamaha* gtr processor for grind and pitch shift (set
it about .5 flat) combined with an SPX90 on its chorus
setting with a vintage CX3 pumped through it. I would
use the CX3 leslie to go fast and slow, and through
those 2 units, had an acceptable sound. That got me
through 2/3 years until the G4, which lasted another
year until the Dynacord. I vacillated between those
2. I recently had a G4 in my possession again, and
after having used real leslies for quite awhile, I
have to say its slow was ok but never could quite
grasp the fast or ramp accels just right.

Ignorance was bliss!
