Jeff,
I just checked my VK-8 manual:
"Master Tune (-100cent - 0 - +100cent) You can adjust the pitch of
the entire instrument in 1 cent steps, relative to the pitch of A4
(middl A) = 440Hz", and
"Key Transpose (-6 - 0 - +5) This transposed the entire VK-8. The
value is in semitone steps over a range of -6-0-+5. With a setting
of 0, there will be no transposition".

The way you enter these values is pretty obscure...
1) hold down the harmonic bar part [upper] and [pedal] buttons, and
press the [amplifier] button.
2) press the button for preset [4] for master tune, or preset [5] for
key transpose
3) turn the [vibrato and chorus] knob to adjust the value (you'll
get some crude indications of the value in the LEDs for vibrato and
chorus mode, or d-beam mode)
4) when you've set the value you want, push the [write] button to
save the setting.

Is that user interface intuitive, or what? Boy -- a extra $5 worth
of materials, and they could have provided a display and some edit
buttons...

hope that helps,
