Subject:Getting To know the CX3


Good morning everyone.

Did it take you guys long to get a decent sound out of
your CX3 through a combo or MS rig? I remember doing
some tweaking to my XK2, but I don't remember it
grieving me right out of the gate. Maybe that's cuz I
used a leslie from day one. To be fair, I've not done
that yet with the CX3. Up to this point, I have found
it sort of strange in that the low end coming out the
organ is pretty big, but the mids and highs tend to
get lost a little bit. Also the percussion is meaty
in the lower half of the keyboard, and not quite so
filling in the upper end. I find it hard to believe
that's all because of the non-leslie issue. Has
anyone else had this experience? I was tweaking it a
lot during last night's show (adjusting wheel types,
amp types, eq settings) but nothing was really making
me happy. A lot of these things sounded very good at
home, but in the band context, just wasn't happening
yet. I know a bit of this is just not being in the
XK2/leslie comfort zone, but how much of is something
else? Any thoughts would be good.......
