Hi,
Just had to chime in here. I spent a lot of time adjusting my Leslie's to
ramp up and down as fast as possible. I usually need it either on or off very
quickly for the type of tunes I do. Everyone has different needs. However, I
feel adjustable Leslie spin speed for the upper rotor is definitely inline
with Clavia's "true to reality" vision. Inside the upper rotor casing is a 3
position hub for the belt. So, spinning with or against the lower rotor speed
in the crossover frequency area, you have 3 very different sounding Leslie's
in one.
The ramp up/down time depends on many things, but generally, the Leslie's
that have seen a lot of use and little maintenance are the slowest! My
Leslie's absolutely rip up and down. There is a very fast change. My bass
rotors are well lubed, with new semi-tight belts and like new motors and
rotor bearings.
All the best,
Chris
