Not necessarily. I use a double-manual setup, and the lower of the two keyboards is about 38" off the ground -- and I'm 5'10" tall. This is what I meant by the bench having to be so high that I look like a little kid at a piano. My feet really just touch the ground, but it keeps the wrist problems at bay.
