Subject:RE: New controller for B4...
OK, UPS listed it as delivered at 1:30 PM... I was on the road for home by
1:50 PM. I was able to set it up very quickly to my liking, using a midi
implementation chart of B4. The keys are simply synth keys, nothing special
(but what do you expect for $199 delivered?)... no aftertouch, which luckily
isn't implemented in the B4, my major reason for buying this controller. It
feels like it's built alright... not like a brick s***house, but solid
enough. The knobs will take a little getting used to, but I was only able to
change between presets before, so this should be loads better.
I am using the first nine knobs (of 16) for the upper drawbars... I am using
five of the remaining knobs for the lower manual drawbars (for now... maybe
I'll change it tonight when I start playing)... and the other two are up in
the air. I will probably end up using them for two more of the drawbars now
that I think about it. Depending on how I like this keyboard, I may pick up
another one and use a merge box to have an upper and a lower manual... so no
splits. It should end up being a pretty nice rig, and the keyboard packed
and boxed for shipping only weighs in at 12 pounds.
