Subject:Roland KC-500
I used a KC-500 for a few months--way too boomy, switched to the KC-
300 for more clarity, and wasn't even satisfied with that. I heard
about a discontinued Mackie, the ART series 200AM, usually used for
fixed installations, only 38 lbs. instead of the SRM-450's 50+ lbs.
200 watts RMS instead of 300 on the SRM-450. 3 inputs & a 4-band EQ
on the back--no need for a mixer.
I've been using one for about a year, running through the board at
gigs. Very happy with it--so happy I just nabbed another on eBay.
Now I can run stereo--might not matter at gigs, but at practice I
like to be surrounded.
BTW, paid $350 + my almost-new KC-300 for the 1st one; got the second
one for $305 on eBay.
