Subject:RE: Perspective

Well, years ago (hmmmm...23 maybe?) I owned a beautiful A100 which I ran
through a Leslie (740 or 760 - it had the silver grill cloth with the black
Tolex covering) and playing the combination WAS heaven. I was in a 5-piece
rock/soul band and played that organ for 4 years. Then the band shrunk down
to a trio (including a 102lb girl singer) and we didn't have the luxury of
enough hands to lug around the Hammond anymore. (Keep in mind the A100 had
the extra "furniture" including speakers). I had to sell it and bought a
used Vox which I still ran through the Leslie. After many years (and
keyboards) I discovered the (new) CX-3. The two sets of drawbars, the
positioning of the Vibrato knob and percussion buttons, the feel of the
keys, the incredible Leslie sim effect... and then the sound. It brought me
back to the A100 I used to have, both in familiarity of the layout of
controls, and in that unmistakable Hammond sound. For me, this was perfect.
The "B3" sound in something that was a thrill to play and easy to transport.
That's why I say...
attack...
tone...
"live" sound...

The CX-3 gives me all that. And you can add one more...
portability! :-)

Hey... it's the weekend... I'm, nowadays, a "weekend warrior"
It's gigging time! YEAH!!!

Have a great one and enjoy whatever you've got, brother!
