Here's what I think Clavia (or another aftermarket source) should do, if it
is possible.

They should create a somewhat miniaturized version of 9 real drawbars in a
tiny package that could fit on the left panel of the Electro. They could be
2/3 scale and still work fine. Full-size drawbars may be too big to fit on
the Electro. They should make this new hardware leverage the USB port on
the Electro rather than the MIDI in jack. The unit should get any needed
power via the USB port, so there is no need for a wall wart power supply.
It should be a very small and simple package with only a USB cable
connecting it to the Electro. It could be made with a lip to grab onto the
back edge of the Electro, possibly with holes matching up to the screws on
the back of the Electro, so it could be solidly mounted. Velcro would also
work.

I think this would be a perfect improvement to the Electro and would
probably not be a very expensive item.

Regards,
Eric

Subject: [CWSG] Electro Drawbars

Hi:

After reading the comments and opinions about the Electro it seems
it's implementation of the drawbar controls has not been a 100%
success. I was wondering if there was an add on drawbar controller,
that was more like the vintage instrument if that would help. I
noticed that Doepfer sells a pocket slider and also a module that has
the internals of the pocker slider that could be wired to tradtional
drawbars. Would either of these products help the situation? Is there
a market for somthing similar to the Doepfer pocket slider that looks
and feels like the real McCoy..?
The Electro drawbars leave me feeling a bit uneasy and even though I
have used presets to create a basic sound I find that it seems
depending on the mix and other factors.. I need / or want to adjust
the drawbars.

Any and all comments appreciated..

Bob
