Yes, a 73 electro will play 73 notes (actually 146 if you have a
second keyboard MIDIed in.)
The keys configuartion of the 73 Electro is unusual. Not all of
them sound on the Clav and the octaves don't transpose. The lowest
note is an F, so you're out of luck when our guitar playing buddies
are in a favored key (but you're not loud enough when they're
cranked-up anyway.)
A British review linked in a post on this board (sorry, can't recall
the publication) talks about some of the key mapping uniqueness of
the Electro.
With my piano roots, I'm alwasys running beyond the range of a 61
key board. Sure, I'd prefer 76 keys, but I easily deal with the
73's limits because I love those sounds!
