Subject:non distinct CX3 sound

Hi,

I own a CX3 and I use the internal leslie sim. Lately when I play out, I
notice (along with the rest of the band) that the CX3 lacks clarity and
distinction,
What I have done is follow Bruce's suggestion to take out the treble to
combat shrillness and It seems to have left me with a one dimensional unclear
sound.

I realize that a Speakeasy preamp would probably add the edge that was lost
by removing the treble. However, I don't have the money for it now.
I set the EQ band and it does help, but it isn't: cutting three mustard."

Any suggestions?
