Subject:To MIDI or not to MIDI

My former rig was a Hammond spinet with a PSR500m on top. I now have
a Psr740 on a Roland VK7 Both boards have MIDI. My
question is, would there be any advantage to hooking the two together?
If so Should the 740 be the controller board. As you can tell I know
very little about MIDI. So I need advice.
