The V5 (and V3) use an integer-ratio modeling of the tone generator system, driven by a master frequency, just like the B-3. On a B-3, the *integer-related* ratio between tones -- which is actually a limitation of the B-3's mechanical design (using gears with a practical number of teeth) -- helps soften the beating between notes on complex timbres: regardless of the note (or notes) played, and the complexity of the drawbar setting, the resulting set of tones will always have an integer relationship (5/7, 3/4, 11/17, etc.). The Voce products copy this "feature," as do several other clones, by modeling a virtual tone generator of 91 tones, each related to the original frequency by an integer divided ratio, rather than modeling each key press as a separate entity. I believe that the phase relationship of the V5 is also static, although individual tones might not have the same phase relationship to the master frequency as the B-3.
