Subject:Re: Budget Leslie sim
Thanks to all for the many excellent suggestions. Another question:
A nearby music shop would sell me Leslie 125 or 225 for roughly
whatit would cost for a simulator ($250-$325). I believe both have
exactly the same guts -- 1 twelve inch rotary speaker; no horn (or
at least no rotating horn).
Do these sound okay if they're in decent mechanical shape?
Also, what would I need to do to use them with my old Korg CX-3?
(Special connectors/adaptors? I know this is a dumb question, but
they have built-in amplifiers, right? Would I need any sort of pre-
amp to boost the signal?
Thanks,
Alan

Voce Spin or Korg simulator. A bunch of the older multi-effects
units by people like Boss, Ensoniq, etc. had Leslie simulators built
in (as well as reverb and tons of other things). I'll bet you could
find one of those pretty cheap. If you are just playing in your
basement, go to some Piano/Organ stores. There are tons of those
little Leslie speakers with one rotor around cheap. But, if I
remember, the old CX-3's simulator wasn't all that bad itself!
