I agree with this assessment 100%. I used an XB2 and XK2 for years
with Motion Sound gear and it always had a bit of a muddy and bass-
happy sound. It was still a good B3 replica, but not nearly as good
as my new CX3 going through the same Motion Sound gear. There is
quite a difference in the overall tone of the CX3 vs. the XK2.

Add a Speakeasy Vintage preamp and you'll be even happier.
