Speaking from my experiences, the L is the best way to go. It's a
pain, it limits you, but it puts everything where you can reach it. I
built a stand to put on top of my organ because of this problem, but
it was really tall & I'm not. Stacking up 3 keyboards is pretty
imposing on stage too.
