Eric,
I've struggled with similar problems. 3 keyboards are unwieldy no
matter how you arrange it. Using an "L" formation is a disadvantage
because you are then restricted to using a particular hand on the
flanking keyboard, and I never like to be limited that way.

The only thing I can think of is to experiment with some home-made
add-on infrastructure. It should be possible to have the Nord
sitting on the XK-2, but have it be closer to you -- that is,
overhanging the XK-2 keyboard somewhat -- and also have it tilted
downward, while at the same time not obscuring the controls of the XK-
2. The difference in how reachable the Nord will be may not be huge,
but you might find it helpful.

I've tried to do something like this with a Nord sitting atop a CX-
3. The problem with that is the CX-3 drawbars, being above the keys,
are easily obscured, and that's not good. It might work out better
with an XK-2 or a VK-7.

I don't want to make suggestions as to how you might make something
like this happen. I'm pretty lame when it comes to carpentry and
such. Which is too bad because a little talent would go a long way
for a project like this.
