Subject:RE: changing keyboard action
Here's the 76-key MIDI controllers I know about:
1) Yamaha made one called a KX73 with 73 keys.
2) Roland A50, A30, A37, and A70, all with 76 keys. I have 2 of the A70's--very
nice synth/organ action, IMHO.
The A70's appear on Ebay all the time--bought both of mine there. Typically
they go for $520 to $600 plus shipping, depending on condition & what comes
with 'em.
You can get Roland's current model, the A37, for about $400 at Guitar Center.
Roland has also made 76-key versions of a number of their synths. I think the
R9 has 76 keys, and the Super-JX had 76. And the deluxe version of the D50,
the D70 had 76 keys.
The Alesis QS7 and QS7.1 both have 76 synth-style keys.
Even StudioLogic has one--the SL-760, but its hard to find.
But I have NEVER seen an 88-key model with synth-weighted keys. Has anyone
else seen one?
